Main Function & ScopeLead Control & Instrumentation resources to provide engineering solutions and support to contribute to the safe delivery of upper quartile performance for wind and solar PV generation assets. As an expert in Control and Instrumentation and SCADA systems, the Lead C&I Engineer will be responsible for the safe maintenance of control and instrumentation system hardware and software, and the development and integration of new solutions to deliver remote asset supervision.KEY RESPONSABILITIES:System Maintenance and ReliabilityCollaborate with Electrical and Asset Management teams to enhance asset performance through engineering support and maintenance:Schedule and manage maintenance of electrical infrastructure monitoring and control systemsMaintain SCADA system configuration, ensuring accurate documentation, periodic backups, and evaluation of technical changesDiagnose and repair system issues, coordinating with trusted contractors as neededAssess and manage replacement components and third-party refurbishment worksMaintain and troubleshoot SCADA data interfaces and site communication networksSystem DevelopmentLead development of innovative solutions in partnership with internal stakeholders and external providers:Design, implement, and test solutions for remote asset visibility and controlEnhance asset control capabilities to support ancillary services deliveryGrid Code and Cyber Security ComplianceEnsure compliance in collaboration with Electrical and IT teams:Monitor and maintain critical control systems to support Grid Code complianceAssess SCADA systems for cybersecurity vulnerabilities, apply updates, and coordinate with IT and cybersecurity teams for robust security measures and auditsProvide control systems engineering support for performance upgradesManage SCADA component obsolescence to extend asset lifeSpecify C&I / SCADA requirements for new renewable energy projects, ensuring operational needs are metOversee commissioning and testing for new projectsTeam ManagementKEY REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.Extensive experience in instrumentation and control engineering within the solar industry.Proficiency with SCADA systems specific to solar energy applications.Knowledge of Grid Code compliance and cybersecurity standards for solar installations.Experience with solar PV projects, including design, implementation, and maintenance.Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.Project management experience in solar energy projects.Familiarity with asset management and optimization strategies for solar farms.LocationThis role can be based in Spain.
