We aim to recruit an experienced wet-lab biologist who is a curiosity-driven and responsible team player that will lead their research together with the PI.
The successful candidate will work on projects to understand the role of the innate immune system and their immunometabolism in homeostasis and during aging, which will be defined together based on their interests. The positions are financed by the ERC Starting Grant project "Studying the metabolism and function of myeloid dendritic cells and neutrophils in distinct tissues in health and aging (MyTissue)."
DUTIES:Lead and organize projects within the group's scientific scope with the PI.Conduct high-quality research in collaboration with other team members.Participate and report results in group meetings and scientific discussions.Engage in training of junior scientists of the research group.Write manuscripts together with the PI.EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:Must Have – Required: Experience: PhD in biomedicine or biosciences. Performing and disseminating scientific studies.Knowledge: Highly motivated and collaborative, with enthusiasm to lead conceptually and technically challenging research projects. Fluency in written and spoken English.Skills: Organized, responsible, and creative.Experience: Research on innate immune cells, aging and/or immunometabolism. Supervision of students or technicians. Coordination of collaborative research efforts.Knowledge: Mass and Flow Cytometry and sorting, Mouse models, Primary human tissue and cell culture, Bioinformatics tools for analysis of gene expression, Multiplex immunohistochemistry, Molecular biology techniques including cloning and CRISPR.WORKING CONDITIONS & ENTITLEMENTS:Working conditions: Employed in compliance with Spanish legislation and regulations under a full-time contract.
