The CRG is composed of an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team supported by a flexible and efficient administration and high-end innovative technologies.
We are looking for a Research Trainee (master level) with expertise in molecular and cellular biology to work on a project defining the role of the nuclear localization of a protein in cancer cells. The trainee must have knowledge in immunofluorescence, cell culture, cell transfection and infection, small molecule treatment, and data analysis.
About the team/lab/department Our laboratory specializes in high-throughput image analysis, subcellular proteomics, transcriptomics, genetic screening, bioinformatics, and cell and molecular biology techniques. We are a group of about 10 people from different cultures and countries. We are part of the genome biology department at the CRG, aiming to understand why metabolic enzymes localize to the nuclear environment and participate in specific chromatin functions.
Whom would we like to hire? Professional experience Must Have More than 6 months of experience in a similar roleProven experience in immunofluorescence and image analysisExperience with data analysis, including transcriptomicsFluency in EnglishDesirable but not required/Nice to have Experience with customizable image analysis pipelinesKnowledge of cancer biology, particularly breast cancerExperience with Western Blot, cell culture, qPCR, and other routine cellular and molecular biology techniquesEducation and training Master's degree in biological sciences or a related field.
Languages Proficiency in English.
