This is a recognition of the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers, designed to bring the practices and procedures in line with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code).We are seeking a research trainee to contribute to a project focused on developing a computational tool for simulating human haplotypes containing synthetic structural variants. The selected candidate will analyze a large catalogue of polymorphic structural variants detected using long-read sequencing and use this data to further develop and refine the simulator. Another key objective is the implementation of a new module to simulate sub-clonal variants and additional variant classes, such as inversions or translocations.About the team/ lab/ departmentThe Repetitive DNA Biology (REPBIO) Team utilizes cutting-edge genome sequencing alongside functional multi-omics data to explore the impact of repetitive DNA on genome function and evolution.
