.Research Technician with Expertise in Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence The InstituteThe Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed of an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.We are looking for a research technician with strong experience in sample preparation for immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF) in stored tissues (either cryopreserved or fixed). The selected candidate will be responsible for working with our partner hospital to collect samples, process them for either IHC or IF, perform image acquisition, and optimize the image acquisition and data analysis pipeline.About the LabOur laboratory specializes in high-throughput image analysis, subcellular proteomics, transcriptomics, genetic screening, bioinformatics, and cell and molecular biology techniques. We are a group of about 10 people from different cultures and countries. We are part of the genome biology department at the CRG, and we aim to understand why metabolic enzymes localize to the nuclear environment and participate in specific chromatin functions.Whom Would We Like to Hire?Professional ExperienceMust HaveYou have more than 5 years of experience as a research technician.You have proven experience in tissue handling, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and image analysis.Desirable but Not Required/Nice to HaveYou have experience with customizable image analysis pipelines.You have knowledge of cancer biology, in particular breast cancer.You have experience with Western Blot, cell culture, qPCR, and other routine cellular and molecular biology techniques.Education and TrainingYou have a Certificate of Higher Education as a research technician or bachelor's/master's degree in biological sciences or a related field.LanguagesYou are proficient in English.CompetencesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.Drive and commitment to produce high-quality experimental results.Strong organizational skills.Ability to work as part of a team.Collegiality.Punctuality in delivering results.The Offer – Working ConditionsContract Duration: Technical and scientific activities contract with the estimated duration of 1 year and possible extension.Estimated Annual Gross Salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales.Target Start Date: Either the 15th of October or 1st November (2024).We provide a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructures and unique professional career development opportunities.
