VHIR offers a vacant position for a Graduated Technician within the Liver Diseases-viral hepatitis group, to enroll in the research line focused on studying biomarkers in hepatitis D virus (HDV).
Education and qualifications: Required: Bachelor's Degree in Biosciences (biotechnology, biochemistry, biology...) Possession of a PhD is not required. Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, English. Desired: Specific/Additional training in biostatistics and/or data management. English certification (at least B2 level). Experience and knowledge: Required: Previous experience in flow cytometry. Experience in cellular (cell culture, PBMCs isolation by gradient separation, transfection, etc) and molecular biology (PCR, qPCR, digital PCR, sequencing, etc). Desired: Experience in spectral flow cytometry will be especially valued. Ability to analyze results using statistical software such as R or GraphPad. Experience in sequencing (next-generation, Sanger) will be especially valued. Previous scientific publications or conference communications demonstrating the candidate's technical abilities (these must be cited in the CV). Main responsibilities and duties: Collaborate on a study aimed at identifying biomarkers in the context of hepatitis delta virus infection. Provide support in processing samples from HDV patients. Fine-tune a multicolor panel for the analysis of the immunophenotype of HDV patients PBMC. Elaborate and sequencing PCR amplicon libraries from hepatitis delta virus and host genomes. Analyze the results and elaborate scientific abstracts and/or publications. Labour conditions: Full-time position: 40h/week. Starting date: November 2024. Gross annual salary: 20.757,77€.
