Descripción The Melanoma Group is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Oncology Researcher to join our team.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in the field of oncology, ideally in the field of skin cancer.This individual will lead research projects, contribute to the development of innovative treatments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance our understanding of tumor drivers and targets for therapeutic intervention in melanoma, but that could be applicable to other cancer pathologies as well.Criterios de evaluación– The ideal candidate should possess a PhD degree in biomedicine or a related field, with extensive experience in cancer research, including preclinical and clinical studies.– At least 5-year expertise in the cancer biology field.– Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals in the field of cancer biology.Specifically, we are seeking out for one of these two profiles: (1) Background in tumor biology and tumor immunology, with expertise in cellular systems and mouse models.(2) A strong computational background in gene expression (RNAseq, scRNAseq) and an interest to apply this knowledge to translational research in gene discovery and pharmacological testing.– Expertise in mentoring junior researchers and providing scientific guidance and support as needed.– Abilities one (or both) of these categories: 1.Demonstrated expertise the analysis of tumor biology (cell viability, cell proliferation, apoptosis…) in vitro and in vivo, or a strong background in computational studies of gene expression profiles.Isolation and culture of tumor cells.Implantation in animal models for assessment of tumor growth and drug response 2.Expertise in gene expression analyses (RNAseq, proteomics…).Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Photoshop, Illustrator, Image J, Oncomine.R programming and statistical analyses such as Student's t-test, log-rank test, and Chi-Squared test, will be highly regarded.– In both cases (tumor biologist, computational background), the candidate should have a strong leadership and communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.The candidate should also have expertise in training PhD and postdoctoral fellows.– Expertise in grant writing.– Additional recognition such as awards and fellowships would be highly regarded.– The candidate must be fluent in English and Spanish with excellent communication and writing skills.Se ofrece– The opportunity to be part of one of the few European Cancer Research Centres of excellence.– An excellent working, multidisciplinary environment.– Competitive salary.– Contract linked to a project.
