We promote Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, fostering an environment where everyone is appreciated for who they are, regardless of differences.Context And MissionThe Global Health Resilience (GHR) group is seeking a highly motivated data scientist to co-create robust harmonized datasets and dashboards for decision-support tools to enhance surveillance, preparedness, and response to global health challenges, including climate-sensitive infectious diseases.
The selected candidate will conduct data audits, perform data linkage, and develop dashboards to summarize and visualize data, facilitating communication with the team and stakeholders.Key DutiesCo-create decision support systems to enhance public health resilience to climate changeConduct data audits of existing epidemiological, health system and environmental informationProcess, clean, and verify the integrity of data to be used for analysisPerform Extraction, Transform and Load (ETL) processesConduct exploratory statistical analyses and create exploratory data analysis reportsProduce dashboards and design innovative ways to visualize dataDevelop training materials for researchers, data managers, and stakeholdersCommunicate research results at scientific conferences and in refereed journalsSupport applications for competitive grants and projectsCoordinate core activities of the global health resilience groupEngage with local stakeholders, data managers, and policy makersLead the data management plan and curation of shared resourcesOrganize and coordinate technical training courses and workshops with external partnersRequirementsEducation: BSc and MSc in relevant fieldsEssential Knowledge and Professional Experience:Experience in data management and statistical analysesStrong programming skills in R or PythonExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishAbility to work in a collaborative professional environmentCompetences:Ability to work in a team and in a multi-cultural environmentProblem-solving, pro-active, result-oriented work attitudeExcellent communication skillsConditionsFull-time contract (37.5h/week), flexible working hours, and private health insuranceDuration: 4 yearsHolidays: 23 paid vacation days plus additional daysSalary: 42,000€Applications procedure and processAll applications must be submitted via the BSC website and contain:A full CV in EnglishA cover/motivation letter in EnglishThe selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system.DeadlineThe vacancy will remain open until a suitable candidate has been hired.OTM-R principles for selection processesBSC-CNS is committed to the principles of the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers of the European Commission and is an equal opportunity employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
