DESCRIPTION The Procurement Manager role will be responsible for leading a multi-cultural team based in Barcelona, Spain. The team is focused on Procurement operations (P2P) and support to other procurement teams in projects or process improvements. The candidate will ensure his/her team drives compliance to Purchase Requisition to Purchase Order (PR2PO) policies, driving spend through the right channels, including catalog orders or preferred suppliers.
Scope of this role is EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Region (16 countries): Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, United Kingdom, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Czechia, Austria, Slovakia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This role also involves support on projects or process flows, working with Category Managers and local Procurement teams on relevant strategic or operational initiatives for the EMEA network.
Key job responsibilities Lead and develop a large team of highly qualified procurement agents.Ensure adherence to Amazon's global spend policy and driving compliance to local Procurement policies and procedures.Partner with pan-EMEA key stakeholders to understand all business requirements and define procurement operations strategy.Build effective stakeholder relationships - develop relationships with primary internal customers (local Ops leadership), external suppliers, and other teams within respective market.Implement, change and/or develop new processes as required to provide the ability to better procure goods and services.Ensure data integrity.Drive effective delivery of EMEA procurement metrics by leading/supporting projects and initiatives identifying root cause of issues and corrective actions.Partner with the procurement technology team to support innovation, automation, and transformation of procurement process and operations.Ensure attainment of department goals, and support senior management to establish goals, KPI's, and policies for the department.Partner with other procurement leaders and teams on local or regional projects and initiative.Contribute to achievement of Procurement's annual savings target, catalogue penetration, contracts maintenance, vendor set-up and maintenance objectives.Support procurement activities throughout all phases of new site launches.Scope roles, recruit and hire according to business needs.Mentor and develop employees for career enhancement and direction.Evaluate team capability and organization structure and make necessary changes to align with business needs.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree.Experience in procurement, operations management, or shared services environment.Experience in managing teams and ability to influence and earn trust of stakeholders.Strong command of English and verbal communication skills.Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.Experience managing complex customer relationships (Influential skills is a must).Possesses the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization/time management, and problem-solving skills.Experience in a fast-paced multi-national environment, dealing with ambiguity and with an eye for detail.Able to work independently with limited supervision and a bias for action.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Familiarity with Coupa Procurement tool (or similar).Experience with Procurement excellence projects, including automation, standardization or incorporation of new controls in procurement cycle.Hands-on experience of running process, technology or operations improvement projects or initiatives.Knowledge of any other European languages (e.g. German, French, Spanish, Italian, Czech, Slovak, Polish, Turkish or Arabic).Experience with metrics creation and data presentation.Experience of improving processes and building scalability.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
