BSC promotes Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, fostering an environment where each and every one of us is appreciated for who we are, regardless of our differences.Context And MissionThe Social Link Analytics unit has been dedicated to analyzing data related to biology and medicine, aiming to evaluate their impact on scientific advancement. The main areas of activity include:Research on sex and gender biases in health and Artificial Intelligence.Study the spread of disinformation in the media and on social networks.Conducting a comprehensive evaluation of AI applications in the health sector.Leading the Bioinfo4Women program within the life sciences department.Funding for these actions comes from the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility - Next Generation.Key DutiesLead project development efforts related to disinformation, focusing on health and climate change narratives.Develop and conduct technical research on innovative tools to evaluate disinformation.Implement research approaches in LLM applications.Support interdisciplinary development in the Life Sciences department.Manage relationships with other institutions.Manage students in an efficient work environment.Write and present funding proposals.RequirementsEducation: Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Data Analysis, Social Sciences or related discipline.Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience:Knowledge and experience in research related to disinformation and health.Strong experience in creating surveys.Experience in quantitative analysis of survey results.Knowledge on network analysis.Strong knowledge in Python data science tools.Experience in AI/LLM frameworks.Experience in writing and managing proposals (3-5 years).Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience:Experience with SLURM.Experience in fine-tuning and evaluating open-source LLMs.Fluency in English is essential.Competences:Leadership of groups.Ability to work in a team and in a multi-cultural environment.ConditionsFull-time contract (37.5h/week).Duration: 4 years.Salary: 55,000.00 €.Starting date: ASAP.Applications procedure and processAll applications must be submitted via the BSC website and contain:A full CV in English, including contact details.A cover/motivation letter specifying the area of interest and two references.The selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system.
