NoOffer Description Job positionPostdoctoral ResearcherThe WRENCH project aims to: (i) enhance knowledge of the effects of climate change on heritage; (ii) analyze how communities perceive, inhabit, and envision their heritage in the context of climate change; (iii) survey existing practices and develop new ones for the living conservation of heritage; and (iv) employ heritage as storytelling tools to make the risks of climate change visible.The candidate will conduct empirical research on one of the two case studies in the project: (1) the Rio Matanza-Riachuelo in Buenos Aires, focusing on its industrial heritage; and (2) the Montes de Galicia, a natural/cultural heritage site. In the application, the candidate should clearly state their preference for one of the two case studies.As a member of the team, the postdoctoral researcher will produce: 1 academic article, 1 book chapter, 1 non-academic article, and a white paper on the revitalization of the chosen site in the context of climate change.Additionally, the candidate will participate in project activities, providing support for research conducted on other sites by project partners.Job position requirements (skills/languages/required experience)The candidate must have obtained a PhD degree. The disciplinary background is open, but preference will be given to candidates who have conducted research in one of the following disciplinary fields: environmental history, urban planning, political ecology, heritage studies, museography, or environmental humanities.The working language of the project will be English; therefore, the candidate must have an excellent command of that language. Spanish proficiency is required for both case studies, and proficiency in Galego is preferred for the relevant case study.Relevant research experience will be valued, particularly previous experience with one of the case studies or on themes connected to the research project.A strong record of high-quality research publications is desirable.Participation in research projects is advantageous.The candidate should demonstrate the ability and commitment to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a research team.Availability to travel for conferences and fieldwork is necessary.The candidate should possess the ability to create and contribute to a well-functioning, inclusive, and productive research environment.21.461,71 € (Gross annual)Spanish employment packages automatically include access to public healthcare and cover public pension contributions, in addition to the salary quoted above.
