Logistics Director - Retailer

At LHH Executive we are currently working with a multinational company leading the retail sector with great performing and modern distribution centers serving over 120 stores and online customers across Spain and Portugal. Due to its growth in the region, we are looking for a Logistics Director to lead its Distribution Center in Valencia.Reporting to the Executive Vice-president Logistics, your main responsibilities will be to:Manage all aspects related to the operation of the Distribution Center, ensuring cooperation with Retail and other stakeholders involvedEnsure an efficient management of resources, following up on agreed actions and KPIsStrategic organization of Distribution Center by setting and communicating goals in line with the business planLead a multidisciplinary team covering the areas of Operations, Administration, Transportation and Human ResourcesSize the teams to ensure efficiency in the operations and the development of the organizationAssess and follow-up on performance and development of the team, ensuring a high level of motivation and satisfactionDefine and control budget of the Distribution Center, monitoring costs and deviationsOptimize internal processes, with special attention to warehouse operation, traffic of containers and trailers, goods receipt, picking and packing, stock counting, etc.Negotiate with vendors, distribution companies, labour unions, etc.Collaborate with the Logistics Directors of other Distributions Centers across Europe sharing best practices and with the Retail Management Team, ensuring alignment with the strategy and the proceduresWe are looking for a person with a track record in logistics and supply chain, having led large Distribution Centers or Logistics Platforms, or similar/transferrable experience. You should be experienced leading large teams, with a management style based in exemplarity, team-work, excellent communication skills, and hands-on approach. You should also like to challenge the state of things, to constantly improve routines and processes. It is especially important that you speak English at a very high level, being particularly valued the international experience and previous exposure to Scandinavian culture. You can expect some travels across Spain, Portugal and Europe.
