Job Description Summary: The Senior Sales Engineering role will support Account Executives in new and existing partner relationships, as well as direct business in order to grow revenue opportunities.
Rocket Software Sales Engineers are experienced technical professionals with an extensive enterprise software sales background who can successfully be the technical sales lead on software opportunities to progress and close business.
They must function well as a member of a dynamic team while having the ability to also work independently to progress and close business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Easily relate to customer business challenges and provide clear, value-based solutions during sales engagements.
Draw on market and industry expertise to illustrate how Rocket Software can drive its customers' strategic goals.
Deliver compelling software demonstrations to business and technical audiences from idea to creation through hands-on technical work, leading ad hoc technical teams, and shaping and managing scope to tight deadlines.
Successfully plan, manage, and complete proof-of-concepts (PoC) that achieve business and sales objectives that are appropriately scoped, deliver on technical requirement proof points, and have a compelling result for stakeholders.
Handle objections professionally; answer questions quickly and coherently; deal with challenges confidently and persuasively whilst leaning on both commercial and technical expertise.
Education Level and Experience: Excellent spoken and written English and Spanish.
Italian language skills desirable.
2 years + experience of systems programmer role.
2 years + experience of storage administrator role.
Required Skillset: Excellent presentation skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills z/OS Storage fundamentals; disk storage, tape storage (IBM, Dell, Hitachi) TSO and ISPF JCL SDSF IBM Utilities (IDCAMS, IENGENER, DFDSS) SMPE Understanding of mainframe ESMs (RACF/ACF2/TSS) In-depth understanding of the IBM Z databases (DB2, IMS, VSAM) Reading and diagnosing job output and system messages Knowledge of Mainframe Storage Utilities and Tools (HSM, RMM/CA-1/Control-T) Desired Skillset: Experience of managing and troubleshooting CICS Experience of working with Cloud technologies as a data source/target Familiar with DevOps concepts Relational database expertise Configuration of SMS (ACS routines, storage groups, disk and tape management) REXX/other programming language Understanding of ETL processing and data virtualization concepts Understanding of mainframe security best practices Information Security: Information security is everyone's responsibility.
