Position Overview
As the data privacy specialist, you will act as the primary data privacy compliance officer supporting our main processing operations. You will support our colleagues in embedding data privacy controls and processes and reporting data privacy compliance.
You will also be responsible for rolling out key data privacy compliance initiatives across Accelya.
Reporting to the Group DPO, this role will also work alongside the Director of Data Governance to support the process business owner community in complying with their obligations under GDPR. The individual filling this role should be comfortable with hand-holding individuals to drive through data privacy best practices while also providing challenge and gaining buy-in with business leaders.
What will you do?

Assist the DPO in rolling out Accelya's Privacy Management System (PIMS) and identify and implement additional local regulatory requirements as applicable.
Working with the Compliance and Information Security teams, assess compliance with Accelya's PIMS annually, provide summary reporting to the Group DPO, and monitor exception remediation plans.
Support the delivery of global privacy and data privacy governance projects and drive the local data protection improvement programme.
Provide practical solutions and expertise to help business units implement the Global Data Protection Policy.
Respond to data breaches, DSRs, near misses, outstanding audit items, RFPs, address root causes, and provide appropriate tailored training and guidance.
Promote the privacy and compliance teams as enablers of business, adding value and trust to our business relationships.
Work within the Privacy team to inform stakeholders and employees within Accelya of any changes to applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR.

What do you need to know?

Good understanding of how information security impacts data privacy and IT risk.
Good knowledge of the software development cycle and cloud hosting.
Risk-based approach to privacy compliance.
Ability to communicate complex and abstract ideas effectively. Use of multiple modes to convey ideas and solutions to different audiences and cultures.
Good project management skills. Agile and proactive attitude and works to deadlines.
Proven experience in GDPR compliance.
