CNAG-CRG researchers participate in major International Genomic Initiatives such as the International Rare Diseases Research Consortium (IRDiRC), the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH), the Human Cell Atlas (HCA), the Earth BioGenome Project (EBP), the European Joint Project-Rare Diseases (EJP-RD), the European Infrastructure for life-science information (ELIXIR), and the 1+ Million Genomes Initiative (1+MG), as well as in several EU-funded projects.
CNAG-CRG is integrated within the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries.

The role
We have an opening for a Bioinformatician through the Instituto de Salud Carlos III funded project IMPaCT-Data that aims to establish a collaborative infrastructure to coordinate, manage, integrate and analyse clinical and genomic data for the implementation of Personalized Medicine in the Spanish Health System.
He/She will participate in the development and implementation of tools and pipelines for the analysis and interpretation of clinical sequencing data.
His/Her responsibilities include:
Benchmarking of RNA-Seq data analysis methods in the clinical context.Refinement and/or update RNA-Seq data analysis methods in the clinical context.Close personal interaction and networking with the IMPaCT-Data and the Spanish clinical genomics communities. About the team

Whom would we like to hire? Must Have
- A minimum experience of 1 year in Next Generation Sequencing data and interpretation
Education and training
- A BSc in Genetics, Biology, Bioinformatics or related discipline
Languages
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Technical skills
- Experience with Unix operating systems, including shell scripts
- Able in languages such as Perl, Python or Ruby and R
Competences
- Excellent organisational, prioritising, communication and interpersonal skills
The offer
- Contract duration: 6 months, with possibility of extension
