The role of an Assistant Warehouse Manager leads and supports the warehouse operations for a Martin Browers Canada Distribution Centre. In this 24-7 multi-temp environment, this position is responsible for achieving safety, service and finance goals, through continuous improvement initiatives, innovation and through leadership of the warehouse supervisory team and warehouse employees.Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:Operations:Develop and administer cost effective operational schedules approx. 3-4 times per year.On going warehouse employee/inventory control/supervisor training.Responsible to ensure that department achieves operational goals (monthly, quarterly,
yearly basis)Monitor and control variable departmental costs on daily/weekly basis.Review and approval of weekly payrollLeadership, Morale, Relationships and CommunicationsAct as a Leader in order to achieve Martin Brower of Canadas Goals and Objectives.Demonstrate teamwork and maintain a positive attitude.Foster an environment of positive employee relations and employee involvement.Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with the union Chairperson and Stewards.SafetyResponsible for the safety of all employees and visitors through compliance of Martin Browers Health & Safety policies and provincial legislation.Investigation of accidents and incidents to ensure all reporting is completed.Develop and administer safe warehouse training programs.Ensure department recognizes and operates in an environmentally competent manner.Employee Management:Responsible for the hiring of Warehouse employees.Direct and monitor employees to ensure quality standards are achieves for all goods shipped and received.Oversee labor relations by managing grievance procedures, discipline, employee concerns, etc.,
within the parameters of the collectiveagreement.Facility & Equipment:Ensure compliance with industry, company and sanitation standards, including making sure physical plant and warehouse equipment is free from hazards and meets legislated requirements.Other projects or duties as assigned.Position Requirements:Required Skills and Experience:3-5 years of management experience in a warehouse environmentBachelors Degree, preferably in logistics/warehousing or related fieldStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to creatively solve problems in a fast-paced environmentWorking knowledge of Importante empresa OfficeThis position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.Preferred Skills and Experience:Familiarity working within a unionized environmentPhysical Demands and Work Environment:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
