Job Purpose:
The Senior Manager, Controller Europe is a full European role responsible for finance processes, controls, and financial reporting.
Also supporting the European accountants in SOX and the definition of thresholds.
Following up on statutory financial reporting with our local teams, monitoring and reporting this to the Controller and Chief Accounting Officer.
Partner with the BPA and the BPO team to ensure that all process adjustments are in line with Corporate guidelines and compliance standards.
To improve processes by reviewing existing manual journal entries, account reconciliations, and Blackline tasks (tasks necessary for our SOX controls), standardizing and harmonizing them.
Accountabilities:
The main accountabilities for this role include:
Cost budget responsibility (audit fees, Workiva implementation, etc.
).Review the European Balance sheets figures and report them back to Corporate.Lead and direct the work of other employees, taking responsibility for all actions.Be primarily responsible for direction and goal setting for the department or function in alignment with organizational objectives.Establish policies and guidelines in Europe, practices, and procedures that significantly impact the organization's long-term success.Support the European accounting teams in several areas, such as financial reporting, accounting, and finance processes and controls, either directly or within the different European conference calls set up by EMEA Controlling (Accounting Forum, Statutory Taskforce call, etc.
).Responsible for compliance in SPC (Special Price Bidding) and relevant checks.Review and follow up on statutory financial reporting with our local teams and report this to the Controller and Chief Accounting Officer.Manage new business models (like consumption models) and ensure that the accounting treatments are set up properly (US GAAP and locally).Manage the overall relationship with our external auditors (EY, KPMG, BDO, and others) and manage the statutory audit fees cost.Local (in-country) travel required. Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Languages required: English and any other European languages (a plus).
