Offer DescriptionThe Science and Technology Park Foundation (FCPCT) of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) - Spain offers one researcher position (ICP2 MECES 3) to work in the EU TWINNEDBYSTARS project.The University Institute of Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development (TIDES), belongs to the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC).
It is a research institute that aims to develop outstanding tourism research, generating and circulating scientific knowledge, and integrating itself into international tourism networks of excellence.
In addition, it provides education, training and raises awareness to improve the development of tourism.
Finally, it applies the knowledge generated to promote the improvement of economic, social and environmental tourism development in tourist destinations.TWINNEDBYSTARS project has been funded by EUROPEAN MARITIME, FISHERIES AND AQUACULTURE FUND (EMFAF), through the Grant Agreement number 101124900, signed by the European Commission on 10/08/2023 and in which ULPGC is coordinator of the consortium.
The estimated end date of the project is 30/09/2026.The EU-funded TWINNEDBYSTARS project aims at speeding up the implementation of digitalisation, circular economy practices, and innovation in SMEs working in marine and coastal environments in EU ORs' (Azores, Madeira, Canary Islands and Martinica).The University will recruit the best candidate following the recommendations of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.

The evaluation of candidates and their selection criteria will be aligned with the ULPGC policies on equal opportunities.Selection and hiring procedures will follow transparent mechanisms according to national and regional legislation.RequirementsResearch Field: Economics » Tourism studiesEducation Level: Master Degree or equivalentSkills/QualificationsThe work and responsibilities of the researcher will include the following research topics:Participation in the project's applied research.Participation in writing results reports.Participation and monitoring of coordination internal meetings with the remaining ULPGC researchers.Organisation and monitoring of agreements as results of project meetings.Participation in project's events.Support in communication tasks and contact with different stakeholders.Support in implementation of project planning.Project indicators and deliverables monitoring.Management of providers and subcontracting, and follow-up of commissioned works.Communication with work package leaders and with the European Commission.Internal communication with project partners.Ensure compliance with the work plan.Specific RequirementsCandidates must comply with the following conditions:Nationality:Spanish nationality or that of one of the other member states of the European Union.Spouses of Spaniards and nationals of other Member States of the European Union.People included into International Agreements concluded by the European Union and ratified by Spain, related to free movement of workers.Foreign candidates not included in the above paragraphs, legally resident in Spain.Age: Be over eighteen.Master's degree in Economics, Environmental Sciences, Marine Sciences, Data management Sciences, Geography, Tourism, Business Administration and Management (MECES 3).Professional experience: at least six months working in research, international cooperation or innovation projects related to the field of this project and to the following tasks: technical or administrative management, communication or applied research.Languages: English (minimum B1 level).BenefitsThis contract is related to specific work and services to be developed by the ULPGC in the context of TWINNEDBYSTARS project.Type of contract: Indefinite-term contract for scientific-technical activities, based on article 23 bis of Law 14/2011, of 1 June, on Science, Technology and Innovation, and other regulatory regulations.The purpose of this contract is to carry out activities related to the TWINNEDBYSTARS project, whose thematic area is linked to the research line called Tourism, Sustainable Development and Cooperation of the ULPGC, a project which the ULPGC is developing by virtue of the grant agreement nº 101124900, signed on 10/08/2023 with the European Commission and whose estimated completion date is 30/09/2026.Incorporation planned for May 2024.The staff to be recruited through this call for proposals with an indefinite contract is not considered permanent staff under any circumstances.The contract may be terminated for any of the reasons provided for in Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of 23 October, approving the revised text of the Workers' Statute Law.The dedication will be 20 hours per week, with exclusive dedication to the project being essential.The gross monthly remuneration will amount to 985.37 €/month (including the proportional part of the special payments).Eligibility criteriaThe following items and scores will be considered to evaluate the application:Professional experience (Max.
5 points):Professional experience working in research, international cooperation or innovation projects related to the field of this project and to the following tasks: technical or administrative management, communication or applied research (0.2 points for each month worked, up to a maximum of 3 points).Professional experience working in companies carrying out tasks related to project management, market analysis, research, development or innovation, digital marketing, community management, sales, data analysis (0.2 points for each month worked, up to a maximum of 2 points).Further training (max.
4 points):Courses related to data analysis techniques, programming, econometrics, machine learning or big data (0.25 points for each course of more than 20 hours, up to a maximum of 1.5 point).Courses related to project management, sustainable development, circular economy, environmental management or similar (0.25 points for each course of more than 20 hours, up to a maximum of 1.5 point).Courses related to communication, entrepreneurship, digital marketing, sales, advertising in media or similar (0.25 points for each course of more than 20 hours, up to a maximum of 1 point).Languages (max.
1 point):English B2 or above: 1 point.Selection processThose applicants who achieve the three highest scores in the merit assessment phase will be called for an interview.
The interview will be conducted in Spanish and/or totally or partially in English, according to the level required for the position.
The selected applicants will be summoned, by e-mail, at least three days in advance.The evaluation of the interview will be carried out, up to a maximum of 10 points, based on the following criteria, being necessary a minimum score of 5 points in the interview to be awarded the position:Initiative and ability to work in a team.Capacity for presentation and presentation of results.Motivation.Adequacy of your profile and skills to the functions of the position.Knowledge of the sector in which the activity will be developed.In case it is necessary, a second interview may be carried out to clarify, complement or deepen in certain aspects necessary to adequately assess this phase.Once this phase of the selection process is completed, the Commission will publish, on the corporate website of the FCPCT of the ULPGC, a final list with the scores of the applicants interviewed, for which the score or evaluation obtained in the merit assessment phase and in the interview, ordered from highest to lowest score, will be accumulated.The Commission may propose the creation of a reserve list in the event of resignation, failure to meet the requirements, or failure to pass the probationary period of the initially designated applicant; future substitutions due to illness, maternity/paternity, etc.

In this case, the reserve list shall be valid for a period of one year from the date of its publication or until a new call for applications is published.
