Position OverviewThe District Manager is responsible for the service business within the assigned district and for leading the activity of all field service engineers to achieve the district's service support objectives and business plan.
Serves as owner and point of contact for escalated service activity within the district.
ResponsibilitiesAchieve/exceed assigned installation, maintenance, and repair targets through effective coaching and development of employees.Identify and implement process improvements to increase the group's effectiveness and value to its customers.Manage the team's job performance and career development.Effectively strategize and drive business objectives, plan, direct, and coordinate the daily activities of service personnel.Communicate and defuse internal and external customer/employee situations.Identify service, technical, and workflow skills assessment and mentoring to the team.Develop and track performance objectives for the team.Handle district company assets including inventory, company cars, and tools.Communicate regularly with sales colleagues to drive business objectives. Essential RequirementsAssociate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or equivalent experience.Strong management skills to effectively lead and direct Field Service Engineers.Able to develop others through demonstration, coaching, and counseling.Ability to instill customer satisfaction that is recognizable and valuable to the customer.Valid Driver's License required.Travel by vehicle or airplane within assigned geography. Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience in using and/or servicing mass spectrometry or capillary electrophoresis scientific instruments.5 or more years of current leadership experience managing a project, group, and/or teams.
