CREATE YOUR FUTURE IT MANAGER Location: Barcelona The IT Manager will have accountability for information technology within the school, with guidance provided by the Regional IT Director Europe in order to implement the strategic technology direction for the school; he/she must ensure that technology services, investments, and business change programmes are appropriately prioritised, managed, and delivered.
He/she will lead the planning, development, and execution of strategies and solutions supporting the school's services and will contribute to the Group technology direction.
Core operational functions include service desk management and escalation along with incident management, problem management, request fulfilment, access management, change management, knowledge management, and IT security.
Responsibilities include:Provide appropriate technical support for all school staff and students across all platforms (e.g.
MIS and VLE).Lead the school service desk in support of all school staff, students, and parents.Facilitate resolution of operational problems and change requests and provide appropriate training and technical support.Take ownership of incidents, ensuring appropriate priorities are set, required resources are engaged, and regular communication is in place.Lead root-cause troubleshooting efforts to address underlying problems and minimise recurrence.Manage the support incident queue to ensure timely resolution of escalated incidents.Ensure division of responsibilities is well-maintained between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line teams.Monitor and improve the approach taken by staff when handling support tickets.Manage the fulfilment of standard requests, ensuring the maintenance and communication of the Service Catalogue.Take ownership of the Change Management process.Act as a point of escalation to troubleshoot and resolve issues as required.Handle communications across the school for major incidents.Create and maintain standard operating procedures.Control operational service updates and handover.Support compliance-based assessments.Manage the asset distribution and IT inventory for the school.Gather and share customer and service feedback.Plan and manage the IT Budget for both opex and capex expenditure.Essential skills and qualifications:Degree qualified and/or relevant professional qualification and experience (e.g.
degree in computer systems, infrastructure, or related field).At least 5 years of technical delivery and support experience in roles that require involvement and understanding of ITIL based service delivery; experienced in the creation and deployment of policies and standard operation procedures.Experience of managing a small team.Experience of service desk operations and tools such as ServiceNow, with basic Project Management experience; knowledge of Windows and Apple desktop administration; Microsoft Office suite; LAN/WAN maintenance; audio visual solutions and IT security.Skills: analytical thinking; strategic perspective, stress handling, industry developments.About us:We're Nord Anglia Education, the world's largest premium international schools organisation.
