The EMEA Energy and Water team is looking for a Water Infrastructure Manager to support scaling and growth across our Data Centre network. If you like to drive the development, implementation and construction of new water infrastructure, your work will help deliver large-scale water projects, and water infrastructure projects that our infrastructure needs to renewably and strategically operate.AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.This role is available in Madrid or Zaragoza.Key job responsibilitiesYou will manage design consultants, contractual drafting, develop and document requirements, budgets, and project schedules.You will manage remote 3rd project delivery teams from design through to construction, and possess the ability to facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot project implementation issues, and remove barriers to project success.You will multitask and re-prioritize and effectively lead deliveries based on ever-changing business needs.You will build and maintain overall delivery program and project budget, submitting Capital Allocation Requests to Senior leadership to secure finance for project delivery.You will prepare investment need/business case papers to secure internal funding for water reinforcement projects to secure water supply and discharges.A day in the lifeLiaison with a wide range of regulators and external stakeholders (Water utilities, environmental agencies, health department, construction contractors etc).You will leverage project management tools and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle.Regularly report to senior leadership on status of key project metrics vs. commitment of your projects.Ensure construction standards are followed and national construction regulations are complied with.Create detailed planning packs to build scalable and future-proof water infrastructure.About the teamAmazon values diverse experiences. That's why you'll find endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.Minimum RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Civil Engineering/Economics/Business.10+ years' combined work experience delivering water design infrastructure and engineering solutions for capital-intensive projects across diversified industries.Fluency in Spanish.3+ years demonstrated experience with analytical and commercial skill set to review utility tariffs, water projects and contracts.3+ years of experience managing project scope, business case and infrastructure requirements, develop contract and draft documentation, request for proposals, and capital requests.7+ years of direct experience with the construction, operation, or maintenance of water infrastructure across different global regions.Advanced degree in Civil Engineering/Mechanical/Chemical/Environmental/Economics.Experience with fast track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade projects and ability to work with multiple stakeholders with varied requirements.Analytical mindset that can identify gaps in requirements during project development, predict performance, and have the ability to provide recommendations on a short notice and with limited information.Business experience in Europe, LATAM and/or Middle East.5+ demonstrated years of experience in program management, risk mitigation and reporting status reviews to management and internal customers.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
