The Team: The EMEA Payroll Shared Services Manager will have responsibilities for payroll and benefits administration across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
The role will be based in Madrid reporting to the Associate Director - Finance Shared Services (FSS) in Romania, as part of a newly created EMEA Payroll Shared Services function.
This is a hands-on role that requires proactive analytical capabilities and an in-depth knowledge of payroll and benefits in our various EMEA locations.
This position works closely with the EMEA Talent & Culture team, EMEA Regional Finance Teams, Payroll Global Process Owner, and the outsourced payroll services providers.
Responsibilities:
Oversight of the EMEA payroll function, including management of a payroll shared services team processing payrolls across the region HUB & Spokes (up to 17 countries).Assist with the EMEA payroll transformation project, including building an EMEA payroll shared services team and operating model, in addition to identifying third-party payroll services providers.Act as primary lead in managing the relationships with the third-party payroll services providers to ensure a high service level in accordance with our contract.Partner with the Payroll Global Process Owner and Talent & Culture team to ensure a scalable and accurate end to end payroll process with a key focus on automation.Supervise the preparation and submission of monthly payrolls in each location and approve payroll reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.Act as point of contact for EMEA payroll queries from all stakeholders.Responsible for maintenance and execution of controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements defined for the EMEA payroll process.Lead the year-end reporting and payroll tax statements processes for EMEA with the third-party payroll services providers.Provide support on internal and external audits, including financial audits and pension, working closely with the local accountants.Stay current on relevant payroll and benefits regulations for the EMEA region.Ensure an environment of continuous improvement is maintained to sustain maximum efficiency.Work closely with the EMEA Talent & Culture teams in all compensation and benefit-related developments, ensuring all changes are communicated to the third-party payroll services providers in a timely and accurate manner.Hire resources for HUB.Support BA Payroll project analyst with 17 EMEA country workbooks.Translate future state workbooks into training materials, deliver training to new onboarded teams.Help to build knowledge articles for ServiceNow for employee's payroll queries.Assist local payroll representative and regional controller to terminate existing contracts.Manage transition/handover from current EMEA payroll team/s to HUB Shared service centre.Key stakeholder in global payroll governance committee.Position Requirements:
5+ years of relevant EMEA payroll experience.Previous management experience in a Payroll Shared Services environment.Strong analytical skills and background, financial acumen, and attention to detail.Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and discretion and a strong self-starter.High quality written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively cross-functionally and globally in a growing and ever-changing environment.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.Experience with Workday and/or Oracle is desirable.Knowledge of SOX controls and restricted stock units are a benefit.Relevant language skills across our markets in EMEA would be an advantage.Manage current EMEA payroll BAU - alleviating time spent by Payroll Project Manager in operational issues, assure compliance and no service or employees are impacted throughout the project and payroll transition.Experience with the listed markets and a second European language is beneficial.Languages and experience with the following countries: UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, France, South Africa, UAE, Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Romania, Poland.
