Title: UABOS Spain: Postal CraftsmanDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAccomplishes all postal functions associated with the performance of this service.Acts as primary and/or alternate Custodian of Postal Effects (COPE).Provides customer service on mail matters to base users.Collects, postmarks, processes, and dispatches mail. Processes inbound mail according to class.Scans accountable mail upon receipt at the post office and upon delivery to the customer.Uses explosive detection device to randomly screen mail for explosive residue to detect potential mail bombs.Collects mail from designated collection points, pouches, sacks, and trays mail.Operates the Official Mail Center (OMC).Maintains the postal directory service.Safeguards all government and U.S. Postal Service (USPS) property provided for contractor use.Manages the controlled area.Receipts for and dispatches registered mail to Naval Air Station (NAS) Rota.Ensures the proper receipt and delivery of all accountable mail.Receives and dispatches personal and official mail to the mail delivery point.Operates a postal delivery and retrieval service to/from the Moron de la Frontera post office.Performs postal driver duties as required. Uses the Integrated Retail Terminal (IRT) while providing customer financial services.Signs and assumes responsibility for a flexible account consisting of funds, stamps, and money orders.Maintains all equipment needed to perform postal operations.Maintains all work areas in a clean and orderly manner.Reports directly to the Postal Supervisor.Adheres to all pertinent Government procedures, regulations, policies, instructions, directives, and plans.Responsible for other postal service associated duties as assigned.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTSPreferred:Mandatory AN.Possesses a Valid US Driver License.Shall have or be capable of obtaining a 'U.S. Secret' Security Clearance.Use of computer, phone, copier/scanner, radio, and in general all administrative materials during accomplishment of work.Skilled in using computer-based Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent.Possess the qualifications of a Postal Specialist (Air Force Specialty Code 3F5X1) IAW Postal Manual or equivalent.Will not have a record of conviction of crimes involving theft or moral turpitude; disciplinary actions reflecting unfavorably upon their integrity; history of psychiatric disorder, alcoholism, or drug abuse, unless a medical evaluation determines the condition no longer exists.Must possess high moral standards.Must be financially responsible.Must be U.S. citizens and have a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) on file if required to handle, process, or deliver registered mail.Cannot have permanent physical restrictions prohibiting duty involving prolonged standing, walking, or lifting of weights up to 70 pounds.
