Who we are : Wikifarmer is a global platform with the mission of empowering farmers by educating them and offering them access to the open market to sell their products at fair prices.The Problem We Are Solving : Most farmers in the world still cultivate their fields with techniques learned from experience or taught by their ancestors, leading to non-optimum practices in terms of yield and regard to the environmental impact. Farmers produce the most valuable part of the food supply chain, but they are the ones getting the least value out of it.How we are fixing this : Wikifarmer is building both an educational platform and a digital Marketplace. On one side of our Platform, producers can tap into and update their agricultural knowledge and practices and on the other side they can upload their products for free, gaining immediate and direct access to domestic and international markets.What we are looking for : Having recently secured a new round of funding from Point Nine (Revolut, Delivery Hero, Typeform), we are starting to build our core team - central to those hires will be a Senior Buyer for our Marketplace.Job Duties and Responsibilities: Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies, both domestic and international.Increase the depth of suppliers on specific products across all countries (Mediterranean).Negotiate and close deals with optimal terms.Create strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.Identify and partner with new suppliers in completely new categories.Manage potential claims coming from customers.Assess, manage, and mitigate risk.Manage and ensure quality together with the quality department.Work closely with sales teams to match demand with supply.Provide insights on potential price fluctuations per product.Requirements: Solid experience purchasing fruit and vegetables from producers across the Mediterranean region. Olive oil experience is a huge bonus.Excellent negotiation and networking skills.Proven experience building strong working relationships with both existing and new producers.Tech savvy, we are digitalising this industry and we need to be ahead of the curve.Business fluency in English as well as Spanish, Italian or both.Leadership skills - we are always looking for our future leaders as we grow the business.You must be located in either Spain or Italy.What we offer: 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays.Fixed salary (depending on experience) plus a bonus scheme for successful deals.Equity.Private Medical Insurance.L&D budget.We are an early startup which is going places and you can make an immediate impact.Transparency and Collaboration.Please submit your CV in English .#J-18808-Ljbffr
