CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.Research Programs at CRAG (from basic science to applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops, and farm animals) make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data (https://www.cragenomica.es).RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Officer to join our HR team.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various budgeting and labor relations, and administrative processes, ensuring compliance with current labor laws, and supporting the HR department in all related functions.The position will involve working with numerical data, performing calculations, managing financial information, and justifying external funding or subsidies. It will also require ensuring compliance with all administrative processes in line with current regulations. A strong focus on labor relations and managing the employee lifecycle is essential, with a passion for people being key to success in this role.Main ResponsibilitiesPayroll & Labor Relations Management: Review and process monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements. Manage labor regulations, employment contracts, and necessary documentation, providing guidance on collective agreements, and managing labor-related documentation.Global Compensation Management: Oversee the global compensation strategy, including salary budgets, benefits, bonuses, and cost analysis for new hires, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial plans.HR Budget Management: Manage the HR budget, including reservations of credit for personnel costs, providing detailed cost analysis and projections.International Mobility Assistance: Support staff with immigration and mobility procedures to facilitate their employment at CRAG.Data Analysis & Reporting: Perform statistical analyses and prepare detailed reports on HR metrics with a particular focus on numerical accuracy.First-line HR Support: Provide first-line HR support to the research groups assigned (supervisors, researchers, and students) in everything related to the employee lifecycle, from recruitment to exit processes.Contribute to Process Improvement: Propose new ideas and solutions aimed at improving the efficiency, effectiveness, and digitalization of HR processes.Personnel Database Management: Ensure accurate and up-to-date employee records.Funding Justification: Prepare required documentation for the justification of external funding, including subsidies, training funds, and other financial support programs.HR Policies Implementation: Execute all types of HR policies and processes to ensure compliance and smooth operations.Direct Support to the Head of Unit: Assist with administrative and HR talent processes.Required QualificationsUniversity degree in human resources, Labor Relations or a related field.Master's degree in human resources will be valued.2-3 years of proven experience in a similar HR role, with a focus on labor relations.Full command in English and Catalan.Knowledge of Spanish labor laws and regulations, including those related to employee relations and compliance in public related field will be an asset.Experience with SAP B1 is a plus.Advanced Excel skills are required.Experience in a public research center and implementing development projects will be an asset.SkillsOrganizational & Communication Skills: Excellent organizational abilities and effective communication skills.Attention to Detail & Numerical Proficiency: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to handle financial data and figures meticulously.Autonomy & Teamwork: Capable of working independently while also being a strong team player.Confidentiality: Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all HR and financial matters.Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and contribute to new solutions.Creativity & Innovation: Ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions to improve HR processes.Working ConditionsWorking day: Full 37.5 hours/week.The salary for this position will be competitive and commensurate with experience.Planned date of incorporation: January 2025.Facilities for balance work and personal life through teleworking and flexible working hours, 22 days of holidays, 9 free days of personal matters; intensive working hours on summer and Fridays.Good environment and good place to work.CRAG is committed to the principles of the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers of the European Commission.
