What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Branch Manager for our Barcelona office! The person in this position will play a key role in the growth of the market position of CtrlChain's Spanish Branch. The person in this role has a solid background in business development and brings a strong network for rapid growth of our Spanish Branch.

This person will also be responsible for managing the team in their day-to-day work and maintaining a very high level of customer satisfaction. The Branch Manager will supervise the entire spectrum of the Spanish branch's daily sales and operations, encompassing transportation planning, scheduling, execution, and commercial activities. This entails guaranteeing the seamless and effective execution of all transportation activities in order to meet customer expectations and delivery deadlines. This person will also lead and oversee a diverse team of carrier managers and key account managers, mentoring and empowering team members, cultivating a positive work atmosphere, and fostering professional development.
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Spanish branch, including sales, transportation planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Manage and provide leadership to a diverse team of carrier managers and key account managers, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional growth.
- Bring in new logos and revenue streams from your well-known network and contribute to the accelerated growth of our Spanish Branch.
- Grow business opportunities by active participation in acquisition and customer meetings, coaching team members, and ensuring continuous development of the commercial and operational team.
- Proactively establish and maintain positive relationships with carriers and other stakeholders, managing solid margin results for the Spanish Branch with the team.
- Ensure strict adherence to transportation regulations and company policies, regularly reviewing and updating transportation procedures to maintain compliance and minimize risks.
- Monitor transportation performance metrics such as on-time delivery, transportation costs, and customer satisfaction. Analyze data and implement corrective actions as needed to optimize performance and address any issues or bottlenecks.
- Collaborate closely with other departments and offices in the Netherlands and USA to streamline processes, unlock business opportunities, and improve operational efficiency.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and technological advancements in transportation to identify potential opportunities for innovation, growth, and competitive advantage in the market.
Requirements:
- A must-have is the certificate issued by the transport authorities that accredits professional competence for transport (certificado de competencia profesional para el ejercicio de la actividad de transportista).
- Completed bachelor's degree in logistics and transport education (CFGS Ciclo Formativo Grado superior en planificación de transporte y logística) or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role, and in a sales role.
- Proven and solid network of logistic customers (focus on road transport).
- Strong knowledge of transportation operations, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle challenges and make effective decisions in a timely manner.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with different departments to improve processes and drive operational efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that improve the overall performance and profitability of transportation and logistics operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate rates and terms with transportation service providers.
- Attitude for continuous improvement and driving operational excellence through process optimization and automation.
- Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Confident use of Office 365.
