The Role The primary responsibility of the Third Party Device Engineer is to maintain and routinely update a catalog of Non-Standard Accessories and custom designed equipment and components. The Catalog of Non-Standard Accessories will identify which parts are available for sale in each country that M-I conducts business. This employee will play a key role in working with cross-functional teams that may include Master Data Management, Trade Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, Finance, and Pricing to resolve challenges that may arise in the MI Part Creation process, known as Change Request/Change Order (CR/CO) process.
What you will do Submit CR/CO's to make changes to existing parts, such as changing suppliers, making parts available for sale in new areas/countries/regions, and making existing parts saleable that have been inadvertently discontinued.Assist Global Design Engineering Manager in ensuring that follow-up actions are completed for in-process CR/CO requests.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues related to CR/CO requests.Coordinate with Equipment Sales Coordinators and Customer Service Representatives to ensure that customer orders for new Non-Standard Accessories are properly identified and processed correctly.Maintain and routinely update the Non-Standard Accessories Catalog(s).Collaborate with Product Divisions and zones sales leadership to identify one-off and project specific custom designed parts that should be added to the Non-Standard Accessories Catalog(s).Act as the Primary Point of Contact for existing Non-Standard Accessories by assisting with technical questions and providing direction to the sales team on how to use the Non-Standard Accessories catalogs.Work with the Global Design Engineering Manager to develop and implement proper management for pricing of Non-Standard Accessories.Work within SAP to ensure that approved Non-Standard Accessories are properly setup to be fully saleable in the approved countries, zones, and regions.Use SAP to identify issues with Part setup and status.Work with the Global Sourcing Manager to educate existing vendors on new Regulations and requirements.Work with Pre-Sales teams to assist with questions regarding CR/CO's and existing Non-Standard Accessories.Identify opportunities to use standard products and solutions in place of creating new parts and solutions.As needed, support the other Design Engineers with non-design related activities.Support the Global Design Engineering Manager with the development and implementation of new processes to improve overall business performance.Act as a champion of all Design Engineering processes.What you need to have Technical background with ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as technical drawings, datasheets, and regulations.Knowledge of commercialization of new products is a plus but not required.Must be fluent in English.Undergraduate degree from an accredited university or at least 5 years of professional experience required.Bachelor of science in Industrial Engineering or Business Management (or similar degree) is preferred but not required.Ability to self-manage without direct oversight.Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels for the organization.Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment.Must have strong documentation skills.Computer Skills Experience with SAP Enterprise Software is a plus but not required.CAD design experience is a plus but not required.Collaborative entrepreneurial spirit.Winning through customers.High ethical standards, openness and trust.Expectations for results.Respect and value people.If you believe you match our values and have the experience we're looking for, then apply!
