The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORIn the framework of our Centre for Excellence Severo Ochoa Programme (CEX2023-001290-S), we are seeking a technician to support the coordination of the ISGlobal Implementation Science Hub. The candidate will report to the Hub Director Caterina Guinovart.
This position will be supported by funding from the "Centro de Excelencia Severo Ochoa 2024-2028" Program (CEX 2023-0001290-S) from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, and the Spanish Research State Agency (MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033).
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONSCandidates should have a PhD or equivalent degree in public health, epidemiology, or a related discipline by the position start date.Previous experience in implementation science research and a record of peer-reviewed publications in this field.Previous experience in implementation research and in policy translation in LMIC settings will be considered a positive aspect.Previous capacity leading multidisciplinary research teams including epidemiologists, economists, social scientists, statisticians, implementation scientists, field workers, clinicians, etc.Knowledge in design and analysis of mixed-methods approaches in research to evaluate the operational performance of different health interventions.Previous experience developing delivery strategies guidelines and recommendations at the national or international level.Proven experience mentoring and training researchers in implementation science methodologies.Proven experience working in diverse low-resource settings with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders, including close links with national health authorities.Proven success in building and maintaining partnerships with other projects, local organizations, host country governments, and international agencies.Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and a high level of data management and analysis with Stata.Candidates should be fluent in English and Portuguese.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe candidate will support the management and coordination of the ISGlobal's Implementation Science Hub and related activities, such as:
Organizing short courses on Implementation Science.Position ISGlobal as an international reference in Implementation Science through different communication channels (webpage, conferences, workshops, etc.).Provide scientific support to ISGlobal research groups in Implementation Science.Create links between the ISGlobal ImpSci hub and other institutional hubs or programs related to implementation science, such as TDR from WHO.Coordinate the hub meetings and report to the Scientific Direction of ISGlobal.Travel to Mozambique and/or other destinations might be required.AUXILIAR TASKSThis job description reflects the present requirements of the post but may evolve at any time in the future as duties and responsibilities change and/or develop providing there is appropriate consultation with the post-holder. SELECTION PROCESSThe selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
