Context And Mission: The Natural Language Processing for Biomedical Information Analysis (NLP4BIA) group at BSC is renowned for developing NLP and text mining solutions applied to biomedical and clinical data. The NLP4BIA-BSC is looking for a Research Engineer with experience in Language Technologies and Deep Learning to work on clinical Language Models, multilingual NLP, and predictive content mining.
Key Duties: Predictive NLP model development, including clinical NLP and automatic text classification. Pre-training of medical language models for healthcare applications. Coordinate technical contributions with team and clinical collaborators. Collaborate in the implementation and deployment of NLP platform prototypes. Contribute to technical reports and project documentation. Requirements: Education: University degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or engineering discipline (minimum master's degree).
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience: Experience in Natural Language Processing technologies. Experience in developing and training models using transformer architectures. Practical experience with deep learning libraries (e.g., Pytorch, TensorFlow, Spacy, Transformers). Knowledge of deep learning methods for pre-training large language models. Advanced programming skills in Python. Experience with software development resources (Git). Strong technical writing skills. Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience: Basic knowledge of Spanish.
Competences: Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team. Proactive mindset with creativity to design new solutions. Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines. Conditions: Location: BSC within the Life Sciences Department.
Full-time contract (37.5h/week) with flexible working hours and private health insurance.
Open-ended contract linked to project duration.
