Please do not contact the recruiter directly.DESCRIPTION:The Marketplace team at Amazon is looking for a talented, customer-obsessed Senior Category Manager to support the growth of Consumables categories in Spain and Europe. This role requires an ability to think strategically in a quick-paced, ambiguous setting. You will be extracting customer and market insights from data analysis to set a strategic direction, build scalable projects by influencing a diverse set of stakeholders, and lead these projects. Someone enthusiastic, self-driven, customer-focused, and a team player would excel in this role.The ideal candidate will (1) be highly organized and have a demonstrated track record of successful project management, juggling multiple projects, creating mechanisms for goal tracking and stakeholder coordination; (2) be a self-starter with a passion for independent, creative problem-solving; (3) have extensive experience and fluency working with data, and have a drive for analyzing data to drive insights; (4) be able to write high-quality documents and present to senior leadership; (5) be able to deal with ambiguity and manage multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Key job responsibilities:Ownership of Category Strategy: Act as business owner of Consumables category in Spain and projects in Europe. Audit and report on input and output metrics, looking at data trends from multiple angles. Develop a complete understanding of KPIs impacting the business (from data extraction and handling to modelling and insight generation), driving business insights. Work closely with Leadership (European Heads of Seller Services) on strategy planning, proposing innovative initiatives, features, and solutions.Project Management: Lead a variety of projects to drive growth and improve Customer and Seller Experience across Consumables in Europe. Partner with cross-functional teams (category and product management, business intelligence, software engineers, sales, legal, and other international partners) to prioritize, inform, and analyze the initiatives. Track results (developing dashboards where needed) and impact of the projects and communicate to Leadership. Coach more junior team members supporting in those projects.Business Development: Work with direct Selling Partner recruitment teams to help identify strategic accounts and add selection, improving the customer experience for the category. Liaise with Selling Partners to obtain anecdotes and data to drive a continuously improving experience.About the team:The role is part of the European Marketplace Consumables Team responsible for the Marketplace Consumables EU performance. The team has a Head of Seller Services from five of the biggest European marketplaces, as well as Category Managers and Strategic Account Managers. We identify opportunities to improve Customer and Seller Experience, build projects to address these, and work across program teams to deliver them. We are a self-driven, engaged, innovative team.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:University degree in an analytical field (engineering, statistics, economics, business administration, etc.)5+ years of experience in Consulting, Product Management, Finance, Statistics, Analytics, or Business Intelligence roles that have included extensive quantitative analysisExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.Results orientation and good organizational skills, with a high degree of ownership and experience managing multiple priorities.Interest and experience in building and managing projects collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholdersDemonstrated experience in data analysis such as customer segmentation and/or behavior.Personal initiative and strong hands-on attitude with a results-driven mentality.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:MBA from a top-tier business school is highly preferred.Advanced Excel skills. Medium to advanced knowledge of SQL is a big plus. Else, demonstrating strong analytical skills (and experience) and is willing and able to learn in a short time frame.Core Program and Project Management skills (stakeholder management, planning, auditing).Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
