PURPOSE
The Solution Engineer, Specialist provides customers with professional, timely, accurate, and effective proposals of SITA Network Services based on customer needs and inputs.
Reporting to the VHF Network Services Manager, the Solution Engineer, Specialist is responsible for triggering all actions required to successfully implement and deliver the contracted solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for preparing the final solution for the customer based on working closely with regional teams for internal solutions and commercial managers when designing solutions for external customers, e.g., ANSP's, Airport Authorities
- Engage with Engineering and other departments to assess the feasibility, the design, and the ability to deliver, transition, operate & support of the solution.
- Understand the products and how they can be deployed to support customer needs.
- Ownership of the supplier's process regarding quotation and purchase request management and coordination with various entities and 3rd party suppliers during all project phases.
- Gather costs from the various parties to help build the solution and to offer the proposal to internal or external teams
- On approval of a quotation or proposal to order the solution and follow up its delivery progress with Project Managers in weekly meetings and emails where appropriate.
- Work in compliance with the Engineering guidelines (technology, architecture evolution, technical strategy)
- Assist in troubleshooting when requested by Operations and Engineering teams, and to document the findings and suggest required changes/fix in the ITSM platform, ServiceNow.
- Produce technical design drawings in Microsoft Visio for commercial teams to engage with external customers
- Ensure documentation and procedures for deployment and maintenance are updated.
Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of telecommunications or ATI experience in large scale, 24x7x365, heterogeneous infrastructure RF/Telecommunications systems/ network environment (preferably in VHF Telecommunication field) environment with B. Tech./B.E. degree in Electronics, Telecommunications or Computer Science, e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA or CCNP
- Experience with IP-based telecommunication networks and basic knowledge of CISCO routers, switches, RF/VHF Technology a plus
- Good understanding of Cisco router configuration, knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols, e.g., static routing, BGP
- Experience in coordinating hardware/network refresh and spare management programs is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment & a matrix-managed organization.
- Be autonomous and agile in changing environments with a sense of initiative and proactivity.
- Strong verbal and written communication & analytical skills.
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Solid change management process knowledge.
- Proficiency in English is a must.
