Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available As the SSE H&S representative on renewable energy construction projects and asset operation, you'll play a critical role in the proactive implementation and promotion of health and safety policies, standards, training, communication channels, and controls.
This is a broad role where you'll be required to think both strategically and operationally, contributing to the success of the projects while ensuring a safe working environment.
Act as a trusted partner to the project team promoting and implementing Health and Safety policies and standards, collaborating in risk identification and reviewing safety practices throughout all project phases.
In collaboration with the contractors responsible for executing the work, review the H&S Construction & Operation Plans, ensuring their adequacy and compliance with policies and regulations as the project progresses.
Work closely with the project team and contractors to ensure that the work is planned and executed with the necessary resources and in compliance with H&S policies and H&S Construction & Operation Plans.
Conduct H&S audits on-site, in collaboration with contractors, to ensure that working conditions are safe and in compliance with established standards.
Manage incident and accident reports, as well as H&S indicators for the projects, ensuring they are reported in a timely manner.
Collaborate in the preparation of reports and distribution of lessons learned.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, you'll need to demonstrate experience in a similar role, managing high hazard risks and applying country-specific health and safety regulations within the development and construction sector, ideally in energy/renewables.
A strong grasp of both Spanish and English, both written and spoken, is essential.
Knowledge of French and Italian will be considered a plus.
We'd love you to have: A relevant Health and Safety qualification, ideally a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, with an engineering background preferred.
Experience in developing, implementing, auditing and improving Health and Safety Management Systems during the construction and operation phases of renewable energy projects, ideally in Spain, France, Italy, and/or Greece.
Availability to travel to European countries where SSE operates and develops projects.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with the credibility and confidence to promote H&S policies effectively among colleagues, external partners, and stakeholders, and build strong relationships based on trust and respect
