The Senior IT Cloud Architect is part of the Global IT - Technical Design team. The role is required to develop, plan, maintain and support Clariant's roadmap to leveraging IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), and SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions based on Microsoft Azure, O365, and Amazon AWS services. This role is responsible for integrating those technologies and solutions in a secure manner into the existing Clariant infrastructure.
Responsibilities Design scalable, secure, and highly available cloud architectures that meet business and technical requirements. Create and maintain architectural documentation outlining the structure and components of cloud solutions. Develop and refine the organization's overall cloud strategy in alignment with business goals. Evaluate and recommend appropriate cloud solutions based on technical requirements and cost considerations. Implement cost-effective solutions and monitor cloud usage to optimize resource allocation. Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and budget management. Ensure that cloud architectures adhere to security best practices and compliance standards. Collaborate with security teams to implement robust security measures for data protection and access control. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences to articulate cloud solutions and their benefits. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in cloud services. Continuously update skills and certifications to maintain expertise in cloud architecture. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical requirements and propose effective solutions. Work closely with engineering and product teams within an Agile framework. Act as a mentor to junior members of the team. Requirements Higher education or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. 8 years or more of relevant work experience in IT, with a focus on cloud architecture and design. Experience in similar roles or positions related to the job description. AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional. Azure Solutions Architect Expert. Ability to operate in complex technical environments. Focus on increasing user satisfaction, problem solving, and proactive technical solutions improvements. Advanced English is a must; other international languages desired. Works independently and proactively, showing personal responsibility and initiative.
