Are you up for the challenge?Typical Accountabilities: Develop software for both one-time analysis and robust, widely used scientific tools.Model data & processes and architect systems to ensure systems built are fit for purpose, usable, maintainable, and manageable.Using scientific and computational knowledge to deliver new insights on existing data.Build effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure utilization and value of software and analyses.Communicate results, uncertainties, and limitations objectively.Master new technology and scientific thinking to deliver results.Accountabilities: As a Senior Informatics Scientist within Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (DS&AI) at our Barcelona site, you will be developing software for both one-time analysis and robust, widely used scientific tools and systems. Apply understanding of biology, drug discovery, and computer science to accelerate the discovery of new therapeutics and develop new technologies.Essential Skills/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in science-based education, postgraduate education in science, bioinformatics/system biology, or computer science a plus.Full stack software development skills, relational databases, Java serverside development, and web frontend development.Demonstrable ability to create high-quality software.Scientifically literate with hands-on experience in research and scientific datasets analysis.Ability to create new data analysis or algorithms.Effective communication with technical and scientific colleagues.Thoroughness and tenacity in problem-solving.Experience in pharma/biotech industry or biological academic research advantageous.Why AstraZeneca?
