Job Description: Join as a Senior Engineering Manager to be a great leader to the team you support, helping them grow as engineers and delivering significant value to users of the products and services they are developing and operating.
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you are an ambassador of innovation in the team. You have a technical background in software development, enabling you to support and guide the team, sustaining healthy technology and careers. You will partner with Product Managers and other leaders to define strategy and execution for the teams.
Be a part of Client Foundations, bringing flow to other developers within King. We are a team of 30+ skilled, knowledgeable, and passionate people, with the goal to double during 2022. We are cross-located in Barcelona, Stockholm, and London, with a flexible hybrid working model. The technology we produce is used across more than 14 different King games including Candy Crush Saga with nearly a quarter of a billion mobile game players every month.
You will head up Engineering System & Support (ESS), a team that supports developers across King by providing systems and services to engineering and game production teams. Repositories (Code/Binaries), Builds environment (CI/CD), Code Quality/Review tools, and Mobile Store Management core platform. It's great if you are knowledgeable about DevOps and CI/CD.
Your role within our Kingdom: As Senior Engineering Manager, you will work together with the team to ensure a timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs while advocating advanced modern, agile software development practices and helping develop and promote great engineering and organizational practices. You will also join our engineering management community and collaborate with the product organization.
Some typical activities: Grow, lead, and support a healthy team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development.Work with the recruiting team to attract, onboard, and retain diverse top talent.Work closely with parts of the whole organization, the team, product manager, tech director, and other stakeholders to define strategy and ensure the delivery of technology and services that make other developers faster and happier.Together with the team and product manager, advocate for continuous integration best practices in the organization.Skills to create thrills: Our ideal Senior Engineering Manager is passionate about technology and what it can do for our different business areas and players of King games, and thrives when developing and supporting great people, not just great software and products. Solid experience managing tech teams, successfully solving organizational challenges, and being comfortable leading a team of up to 10 people.The ability to encourage, grow, lead, and develop a team to high performance standards and an inclusive culture.Ability to steer collaboration, balancing between stakeholder approval and forward momentum.Experience building meaningful products, focused on the outcome over the output.Demonstrate verbal/written communication skills.About King: At King, we're Making the World Playful.
