The Senior Surveyor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes.Key Accountabilities:Acts as a professional specialist for the organization in the application of related Rules, Regulations, requirements, concepts, principles, and processes; Prepares technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys performed; Maintains survey files in an orderly and up-to-date manner in area of responsibility; Maintains active awareness of new working methods and developments affecting the technical scope of assigned responsibilities; Recommends new approaches to problems encountered; Performs routine surveyson classed ships, platforms or other marine structures and at manufacturers sites for compliance with classification and statutory requirements; Engages in contact with clients to solve problems within area of expertise.Qualifications:Formal qualification in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or Nautical School; 2 years professional experience, either as surveyor or as owner superintendent, shipyard quality control inspector or as a STCW Officer (on board of merchant ships); Young motivated candidates without previous experience will also be considered; Previous experience as asurveyor of IACS Classification Societies would be a significant advantage; Physically able to work in confined spaces, hazardous atmospheres, extreme temperatures and weather conditions, etc. and therefore being not suffering from allergies, vertigo, claustrophobia, etc; Willingness to travel;Practical and theoretical knowledge of hull, machinery, materials, equipment and safety systems of ships; Fluent English language,both spoken and written; Good communication skills; Ability to work alone, in a team and on tight schedules; Ability to manage conflicts and to negotiate; Pro-active customer-focused approach.With over 5,600 employees and 200 offices in 70 countries worldwide, RINA is a multinational player which provides certification, marine classification, product testing, site supervision and vendor inspection, training and engineering consultancy services across a wide range of sectors.
