This senior developer role will deliver cloud native data solutions by:
Developing CI/CD pipelines and IaCCarrying out detailed designHelping assure best practices, standards and code qualityIt will enable projects to deliver cloud native solutions, and support driving cloud innovation across Arup. The senior cloud infrastructure engineer role sits within the Digital Hub and Data Infrastructure Team, reporting to the ADIS Cloud and Data Platform Lead. The role will work closely with colleagues in data science, data engineering, product management, software development, automation, Digital Technology Group (corporate IT) and other business groups. The tools, practices, and culture we put in place will have an impact across the company, globally.

Essential Skills and Knowledge Senior developer level experience of developing CI/CD pipelines and IaC for cloud based data and microservice solutions within the following technical environment:Cloud - AWS is essential, additional cloud vendors (Azure) would be beneficial.Technologies - a number of the following: Lambda, Fargate, EKS, RDS, DynamoDB, Elastic Search, Kaftka, MQ, SQS, API Gateway, S3, MWAA (airflow), Kinesis, Data Lake, Redshift, Athena, Power BI, Data Factory, Synapse, Sage Maker.CI/CD - Azure DevOps or equivalent CI/CD, Terraform, ECR, Git, Jira.Containers - Docker, Packer, Kubernetes (Desirable), Helm.Cloud network and connectivity - VPC, VPN, Routing, DNS.Experience of Python development (or equivalent) for cloud infrastructure automation tasks.Experience of developing secure cloud environments, including concepts such as load-balancing and autoscaling.Experience of developing, deploying and managing containerised services, and configuring and managing Kubernetes and/or serverless container environments and associated ecosystems/tools.Experience of deploying and managing microservice architectures and environments.Experience building solutions integrating with corporate IT systems, such as monitoring security and support.Experience of providing guidance and input to cloud infrastructure engineers.Experience of helping establish consistent development approaches and reuse (coding standards, naming conventions, componentization).Experience of working within agile delivery methodologies (Scrum) and test-driven development.Experience of Linux based systems.Experience of working within distributed teams.Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience and share technical knowledge and support colleagues.Desirable skills and knowledge Experience of working within a product-centric environment and user-centred design principles.Experience of delivering cloud engineering for data intensive environments.Understanding of "Spotify Engineering Culture" and chapters in cross-functional teams.Experience developing CI/CD pipelines for big data analytics frameworks, IOT message frameworks, distributed databases, and their PaaS equivalents in the cloud.Background in "Architecture, Engineering and Construction" or a strong interest and desire to create market-leading propositions for this market.Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a numerate discipline.
