As a Senior Cloud Architect you will play a pivotal role supporting users, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and helping to design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient solutions on the Azure cloud infrastructure. This role ensures that new platform capabilities are developed according to user demands, with a strong emphasis on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and Qualify Platform Capabilities: Define and prioritize new functional and non-functional capabilities for the cloud-based data platform, ensuring alignment with business needs and Allianz's security, compliance, privacy, and architecture standards.Subject Matter Expert (SME): Act as the platform SME for both potential and existing users, guiding them in the architecture of scalable, high-performance Data & AI solutions.Product Owner for Data Platform: Provide leadership and product guidance to engineering teams during the design, development, and implementation of new platform capabilities. Ensure all solutions meet defined quality standards and acceptance criteria.Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to co-create data solutions, optimizing business models and identifying opportunities for improved data usage.Technology Evaluation: Lead the evaluation and selection of technologies and partners to implement data analytics use cases, focusing on proofs of concept and prototypes.Innovation and Trends: Stay up to date with emerging trends in Data, Analytics, AI/ML, and cloud technologies. Leverage open-source technologies and cloud tools to drive innovation and cost-efficiency.Representation and Reporting: Prepare materials for management briefings and public events. Represent the team in technical discussions, particularly regarding architecture and platform capabilities.What you bringEducation: A degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Certifications in cloud technologies (Azure, AWS) and data analytics are a plus.Professional Experience: 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on Data & AI infrastructure, ideally in Azure. Experience in building scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions, particularly in data analytics and AI/ML environments.Skills: Strong expertise in Azure cloud infrastructure, Data & AI technologies, and data platform management. Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Excellent communication and presentation skills.Requirements/Skills/ExperienceBachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in cloud data architecture and management.Proven experience in designing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures using Azure services, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Machine Learning, and Azure Data Lake.Expertise in modern Data Warehouse architectures (e.g., Lakehouse) and experience with Azure tools such as Synapse Analytics and Fabric, as well as Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC).Experience leveraging Azure Machine Learning and AI services (e.g., Cognitive Services, Azure Bot Service) to integrate machine learning models and AI capabilities into data solutions for predictive analytics and automation.Strong knowledge of data security and compliance practices using Azure AD, Azure Key Vault, and Informatica's data governance tools, with a focus on data privacy and regulatory standards.Expertise in optimizing resource usage, performance, and costs across Azure services and IDMC, leveraging tools like Azure Cost Management and Azure Monitor.Proficiency in data integration, machine learning, and generative AI from an architectural perspective, with hands-on experience in Python, SQL, and Spark/Scala/PySpark.Skilled in ETL/ELT tools, advanced SQL, and working with container solutions like Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and microservices architectures and APIs.Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman, with a proven track record in designing and managing cloud solutions on Azure.Strong understanding of emerging trends in big data and analytics, particularly in open-source technologies.Adept at working in fast-paced corporate environments, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
