This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated Senior Category Manager to join Corio's rapidly growing offshore wind business and support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy.
Corio's global offshore wind business is responsible for the successful management and delivery of a pipeline of 30+ GW of offshore wind projects, the origination of new opportunities and partnerships as well as the provision of asset management and advisory services to third party investors.
In this role, you will report to the Head of Procurement Strategy. This role requires you to take portfolio level responsibility of all procurement and contract related matters for the design, fabrication and transportation for all types of offshore wind foundations (WTG and OSS) for Fixed-Bottom, Floating and Gravity Based, and wind farm site investigation services, including:
- Development of strategic supplier relationship management with tier 1 suppliers, supplier development including for lower tiers, leverage of such relationships to support contract management effectively
- Define portfolio strategic sourcing strategies for the given categories to provide best value to our global project portfolio
- Time limited and assignment specific secondment into Project(s) to support the execution of your portfolio sourcing strategies
- Provide bid assumptions for each of the on-going bids for your categories
- Lead supply chain management for your categories, monitoring and managing availability of components/resources (cost drivers), including forecasting supply / demand and development of alternative supplies where necessary
- Provide oversight to the procurement processes and contracting strategy for the given categories across projects
- Together with the relevant head of product engineering and valuation team, challenge scope specifications to determine where unnecessary costs can be eliminated, and more value can be achieved
- Closely collaborate with the relevant project stakeholders to develop and review the procurement strategy to support best value tender processes. You will use your strong relationship building skills to engage with technical, commercial & project colleagues and influence a variety of key decision makers as well as senior business managers across the organization. You will use your category domain expertise to deliver best in class input and advice to the company's projects.
There will also be ad hoc decision support activities, including driving strategic initiatives and supporting the whole Offshore Wind business in its procurement and contract management activities.
Your procurement skills and qualifications will include either CIPS or equivalent qualification and a minimum of 2+ years' experience in offshore wind related to the given categories. Strong preference is given to individual that have already worked in category management and/or sourcing for offshore wind for 2+ years. You can speak and write English fluently, have a passion for innovation and have a track record to thrive in a fast-changing environment.
Alternatively, you have a strong commercial background and experience from a Design & Engineering House, EPC and/or fabricator working with offshore foundations. Experience of working with site investigation services for offshore wind farm development would be highly beneficial too.
Outstanding negotiation, communication skills and commercial acumen, strong relationship management skills, a well-developed attention to detail with capacity to appreciate the "big picture" as well as prior experience of working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment will hold you in good stead to be successful in this role.
Location is the UK (London or Edinburgh), Spain (Madrid) or Denmark (home office). For the right candidate, other locations in APAC (Taipei, or Melbourne) or Americas (Boston) would be considered if you are already based in these locations. Relocation is not provided. The successful candidate can work both remotely from home and/or one of our offices. Significant amount of international travel is likely to be required as part of your role.
