Open Call on competitive basis at the FUNDACIÓN PARA LA INVESTIGACION BIOMÉDICA DEL HOSPITAL CLÍNICO SAN CARLOS-IdISSC for a position as Scientific Support Staff (Área 2 - Grupo II - Titulado Superior) at the Musculoskeletal Pathology Research Group, for the following project funded by Horizon Europe - the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (2021-2027): Project: "Stratification of Patients using advanced Integrative modeling of Data Routinely acquired for diagnosing Rheumatic complaints: SPIDeRR".
Grant Agreement 101080711.
Full-time contract (37.5 hours per working week).
The starting date will be immediately after resolution and the duration of the contract will be approximately 13 months or when funds allocated to this project are completely expended or the end of the project.
Gross salary per year 27862.56€ (in 12 payments) approximately in accordance with Spanish Law.
JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES
- SPIDeRR (Stratification of Patients using advanced Integrative modelling of Data Routinely acquired for diagnosing Rheumatic complaints) is a Horizon Europe project (grant agreement 101080711) aiming at unravelling the real complexity of early diagnosis of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases (RMDs) by considering the whole network of factors influencing patients' symptoms.
In this project, we will develop data-driven tools to optimize the care of subjects with these conditions at different levels of the healthcare system, using different datatypes from several healthcare systems, and machine learning/artificial intelligence techniques.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Practical knowledge and experience in applying AI techniques in biomedical research or healthcare settings (0-3 points)

Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science and machine learning (e.g., Python, R) (0-2 points)

Previous experience: * in data curation (normalization, harmonization, common data models) (0-1.5 points)
- in natural language processing tools and techniques (BERT and other transformer-based models) (0-1.5 points)
5.
Scientific publications (0-1 points)
6.
Mobility (0-1 points)

Previous labor mobility and personal experience, including the experience obtained in non-standard or informal ways, will be assessed.
In order for the candidate to be proposed, the overall sum of the marks for all award criteria should exceed 50%.
