WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGSCIB GDF is looking for a Structured Finance Energy Associate, based in our Boadilla del Monte office.
Context and definitionThe Structured Finance Team is the front office origination, structuring and execution team covering sectors like Power, Renewables, and Energy Transition across Europe and the Andean Region.
The team identifies this Associate role as a key position to unlock many new opportunities that we believe can be created, leveraging the unparalleled experience, client relationships, and know-how that has been built over the last years.
The Project Finance Associate must possess a strong desire to support the growing finance and business development efforts.
ResponsibilitiesTo help senior members of the team to originate, structure and execute business opportunities.Assist with business origination activities and preparation of top quality marketing and internal materials, both from a content and visual perspective.Ability to build complex financial models from scratch, ensuring they accurately reflect transaction terms and due diligence inputs, running sensitivity analysis, and making adjustments as deals evolve.To design new value-added solutions as the team progresses, providing more complex structures.Responsible for mentoring and developing more junior members of staff, primarily on financial modelling workstreams, providing constructive feedback on a formal and informal basis.Requirements and skillsExperienceMinimum of 3 years in advisory, lending structured finance transactions, or M&A in the renewables infrastructure or renewable industry.Mastery of the legal arrangements standard in non-recourse financing.Highly valued: International experience.EducationBachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Engineering.MBA highly valued.SkillsFinancial modeling and credit risk presentations.Solid structured finance fundamentals, with special focus on cash flow analysis, financing products and different debt structures (senior debt, holdco/subordinated debt financing).Specific experience in renewables/ESG/energy transformation projects will be valued.Excellent PowerPoint and presentation skills.Communication and organizational skills.Strong interdisciplinary skills covering financing, accounting, financial modelling, due diligence, and documentation.Proactivity and creativity, with the ability to take initiatives and propose solutions.
High degree of commitment in a very demanding environment.Languages: i) Mandatory: English & Spanish.
