The role is responsible for formulating and implementing GWS Local business development strategies based on the strategic direction and targets of the business. This role will partner with functional leadership teams in the region and align with the Operating Units in the development and implementation of a people strategy.

We are recruiting a Sales Director for Iberia in our GWS Local business segment located in Madrid. Reporting to the Managing Director and functionally to the Sales VP, the role is responsible for overseeing the sales strategy and delivering the sales target to achieve our business objectives. The role is responsible for formulating and implementing GWS Local business development strategies based on the strategic direction and targets of the business and for providing leadership to the sales team consisting of Business Development Managers & Sales Executives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Negotiate and successfully close sales opportunities to meet and exceed agreed sales targets within the target markets.
Develop and build long-term professional customer relationships with existing, new, and potential clients. Maintain excellent relationships and after sales support.
Identify and build a long-term active pipeline for their team, exploring both existing markets and targeting new market opportunities.
Provide leadership to the Business Development Managers & Sales Executives ensuring they have the appropriate training and development opportunities to fulfill their role and are given the support to allow them to be successful.
Take complete ownership of, develop, and deliver exceptional sales and tender documents and presentations, in line with Company standards. Generate tenders and relevant document preparation, using the specialist support functions (procurement, HR, QHS) as well as local managers and the Sales VP.
Raise the company and business profile by representing CBRE at industry events, high level networking and always promoting an image of professionalism.
Collaborate with the Managing Director and Sales Vice President to develop a concise plan to accomplish the retention and acquisition of clients/markets.
Manage the creation of proposals, presentations, and other client-facing materials with the pursuit team and national/local marketing professionals.
Establish corporate relationships with key decision-makers across various organizational levels.
Lead interactions in a client-facing role for high value sales opportunities.
Coordinate and govern sales activity throughout the sales process including qualification, discovery, proposal, pricing presentation and negotiation.
Evaluate industry and business trends and analyze performance and respond with necessary business change.
Education and Experience
Proven track record of success in winning new business, demonstrated knowledge of the outsourced services market, and the ability to influence all organizational levels - including the ability to develop credibility and trust quickly with C-Level executives/decision makers.
A professional background of outsourcing of technical/engineering or related services is preferred along with a strong education background.
Extensive experience in developing outsourcing solutions, pricing and org development models preferred.
In terms of personal characteristics, we are seeking someone with an entrepreneurial approach with a growth mindset to deliver results, whilst influencing & motivating the team. Resilience & tenacity is also important.
The successful candidate should be able to prioritize key initiatives, develop business development effort to align the overall business unit goals.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret various types of business documents such as complex and lengthy RFP documents with detailed SOW. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. This requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
Technically savvy with solid experience in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Outlook.
Experience working with large data sets with the ability to decipher multiple types of RFP models preferred.
Fluent written & spoken English & Spanish is essential for the role.
