Research Impact Technician For The Severo Ochoa Program (Ref | M-210

CREAF is seeking a proactive Research Impact Technician to contribute driving an impact culture at CREAF while maximizing the impact of our research. He/She will work full-time on the project SEVERO OCHOA ref. CEX2023-001340-S, funded by MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033. He/She will work closely with and report to CREAF's Research Impact Officer to help translate our research into tangible benefits for society.

This position involves support in executing CREAF's impact strategy, assisting in data collection, analysis, visibility and reporting on impact, engaging and communicating with stakeholders and researchers to ensure our research is mobilized outside academia and providing management support to the impact team.

A full-time contract is offered (37.5h per week) and it is planned to last from October 2024, to March 2028 (linked to the actual completion of the project). The salary offered will range from €28.164,63 to €31.098,44 gross per year depending on experience.

TASKS: Support Impact Strategy Development: Assist in developing and implementing strategies to enhance the societal impact of our research.Stakeholder Engagement: Support in fostering relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, non-profit organizations, community groups.Impact Assessment: Aid in designing and conducting assessments to measure the impact of our research, using qualitative and quantitative methods.Impact Visibility: Assist in executing communication plans to effectively disseminate research impact to diverse audiences.Capacity Building: Provide support to researchers to enhance their skills in impact-oriented research practices including the development of a repository of materials, guides and tools.Citizen Engagement: Strategically support existing and potential citizen science and environmental education initiatives. REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor's or master's degree in biology, environmental sciences, geography, or similar disciplines.Experience in research impact, stakeholder engagement, impact in grant proposals and/or impact assessment and communication.Experience in project management and information management.Knowledge of funding mechanisms and experience in supporting or participating in grant development.Experience in the public research sector.Working experience at an academic or research institution either as research staff or research management staff.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be able to liaise and interact with researchers, senior leadership, and stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in Spanish or Catalan, and English (non-native speakers must provide a minimum B2 certification). ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS: Ability to design data collection systems and applications.Ability to gather information and data in different formats (quantitative & qualitative), including impact-related data.Experience in coordination of activities and events.Experience and/or training in research impact: planning, management, and assessment.Experience working in public policy development environments.Experience working in citizen science or participatory projects.Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on translating research into practical applications.Candidates who have a recognized disability will be considered and accredited equal to or greater than 33% will be prioritized, as long as the disability is compatible with the proper performance of the job. SELECTION PROCESS AND CRITERIA: Admissions of candidates: applicants must submit a CV and a brief cover letter with a statement of interest and clear explanations of how the candidate meets the requirements until 19 September 2024. Once the allegations and amendments to the provisional list have been reviewed, the convening body must approve and publish the final list of admissions and exclusions.Interview Phase: As part of our selection process, shortlisted candidates will undergo an interview. During this phase, candidates will have the opportunity to discuss their qualifications, experience, and suitability for the position.Final Communication phase for presented candidates: Once the selection process concludes, all candidates who have been presented will receive communication regarding the final outcome. This phase ensures transparency and professionalism by informing candidates of their status in a timely manner.
