Context And Mission The Life Sciences Department from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center is establishing a new team on Health Data Research that will collaborate closely with the INB/ELIXIR-ES unit. This new team focuses on the massive amount of health data available for research in recent years and aims to improve health services' efficiency through better understanding of diseases.
The selected candidates will have responsibility for ensuring the accessibility, usability, integrity, and security of biomedical data throughout its lifecycle in different projects. Key Duties Participate in data management planning for research projects, including data storage, backup, and archiving strategies. Facilitate data sharing and collaboration among research teams. Implement and promote best practices in data stewardship and management, ensuring data is findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR). Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures. Provide training and support to researchers on data management best practices and tools. Requirements Education
MSc in data science, bioinformatics, or a related field. Alternatively, demonstrated experience in data management and stewardship. Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
Experience in data stewardship and research data management. Familiarity with FAIR data principles and best practices in data quality management. Familiarity with data analysis with R, Python or SQL. Understanding of the regulatory requirements related to biomedical data management. Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
Fluency in spoken and written English. Competences
Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and within a team. Conditions The position will be located at BSC within the Life Sciences Department. We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, and private health insurance. Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project. Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus additional holidays per our collective agreement.
