The Principal Preclinical Surgeon Scientist will serve as a surgical lead and scientific contributor for the development and execution of preclinical studies that will competitively position Johnson and Johnson Robotics and Digital products for domestic and international regulatory and clinical acceptance.
The Preclinical Surgeon Scientist will serve as the primary surgeon on RAD preclinical studies.
The individual may also serve as the primary scientist on some preclinical projects by contributing to the design, execution, analysis and interpretation of preclinical studies to understand the safety and efficacy of product concepts.
The individual will work closely with teams internal and external to the Preclinical group to meet project objectives.
The Preclinical Surgeon Scientist will contribute to the development of Johnson and Johnson's minimally invasive soft tissue robotic platform, Ottava, and its associated advanced instruments as well as play a role in the development of the Monarch family of flexible robotics platforms.
Key Responsibilities: Functioning as the primary surgeon to provide surgical expertise and technical leadership during research, development, and evaluation of surgical devices using animate, inanimate, and cadaveric models.
Performing surgical research & testing which support development of products or procedures in minimally invasive surgery (open, laparoscopic, and robotic).
Conducting & / or directing surgical investigations for product development and preclinical evidence generation.
