The Postdoctoral Fellow within Analytical Characterization R&D; develops, optimizes, validates and transfers a variety of analytical methods with general direction and in accordance with department procedures. In this position, you will recognize, diagnose, and correct instrument and method problems for various analytical techniques. The Postdoctoral Fellow also collaborates with outside researchers to bring together both outside and internal expertise and identifies new technologies to help keep the group current. You will represent Analytical Characterization R&D; on project teams and present data within the department and/or project team with appropriate level of statistical analysis. You will also initiate and write technical reports with general supervisory input. Key Responsibilities: Participate in Analytical Chemistry activities related to the development of ocular medical device products. Perform method development, optimization, validation and transfer activities. Work towards the identification, assessment and development of new scientific concepts and technologies. Make decisions regarding analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, and arriving at timely technical decisions. Modify methodology to improve the quality, accuracy, and usefulness of data. Review technical files regarding method validations and transfers. Review and submit laboratory documents into company database system. Qualifications Required: PhD in Analytical Chemistry received within the last 3 years or by the start date of this role for current students. Advanced knowledge and experience with chromatography and mass spectrometry. Preferred: Advanced understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices of Analytical Chemistry. Method development experience. Experience in an FDA regulated environment. Familiarity with statistical analysis and design of experiments. Basic experience with research & development of novel materials, designs or processes. Basic knowledge of intraocular lens products with respective competitive landscape. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven record of delivering project results. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
