The primary function of the Quality Manager is to lead the execution and deployment of the organization's Strategic Quality Plan in conjunction with the plant leadership team and serves as the Management representative for the Quality management system. Manages quality resources to ensure product flow consistent with established internal standards, industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements. Provides total quality leadership to customers, suppliers, and all internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities: Manages the Quality / customer interface to proactively assure requirements are understood and satisfiedResponsible for the problem resolution process, whether internal or customer identified issue, which includes ensuring timing deadlines are met and using standard reporting tools (8D or customer-specified report variant).Responsible for Customer Scorecard performance and engaging the applicable department or area in root cause/corrective action activity if not meeting requirementsManages the Plant Quality DepartmentLeads implementation and verification of the appropriate Quality Management Systems throughout the operation, providing quality leadership and support in the development and launch of new products, processes including leading Plant APQP activity and Customer and Supplier PPAPOversees and/or may lead the auditing of internal Quality Systems and industry quality system requirements (i.e.IATF 16949, VDA, ISO 9001, etc)Monitors production part approval (PPAP) documentation to assure that customers' requirements are met in new or modified products and processesAnalyzes organizational Quality Metrics and performs managerial reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational levelEnsures functional participation in product development and launch activities including identification of customer expectations, manufacturing, and ongoing production test supportApproval for process (pre-production/production) related quality documentation which includes the Control Plan, Standard Work Instructions, permit for deviationValidates Quality Lab and verification of associated product and/or evaluation requirementsConfirms the completion of daily production line startup verification (includes Poka Yoke's)Owns the initiation and authorizes closure of product containment activityMeasurement Systems Analysis verification for measurement tools and devices used within the production process or its supportHas the authority and the responsibility to stop any process or product delivery in case of non-conformance of customer expectations, safety, or environmental risksRequirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field from an accredited institutionA minimum of 6 years of experience in a quality function in a manufacturing environment in the automotive sectorAt least 2 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role in a quality department
