The responsibilities of the Quality and Improvement Engineer will be:
Lead Quality & Reliability reviews and maintain accurate records of all actions taken, including Corrective Action and Engineering changes.
Manage all Q&R projects including implementation Action plans and ensure that all issues are closed in a timely manner.
Manage Feedback performance at various stages of the process, to suppliers, design team, quality teams, and the operations team, leading to performance improvements when required.
Early identification of all potential Quality related Product and Process issues through DFMEA, PFMEA and associated control plans.
Manage the Validation at source of all key processes with a focus on early identification and instant response when potential issues are identified.
Manage associated Quality metrics, setting continuous improvement goals and objectives, reporting status through various review processes, such as Daily Gemba, Quality MDI.
Analyze production data, product and process verification steps, and complete problem breakdown and analysis when required.
Ensure that all Product and Process areas of responsibility meet the required criteria and standards, such as ISO standards and Customer audits.
Demonstrate strong engineering and technical knowledge, utilizing this to make timely and accurate decisions that will result in Product and process improvements that meet customer expectations and requirements.
The Quality and Improvement Engineer must have/be:
Degree in Engineering with 5 years engineering experience in Quality, Manufacturing or Design Engineering is essential.
Strong competence in data analysis, root cause analysis, and the timely implementation of corrective action.
Demonstrates Product and Process knowledge, with experience in Quality Assurance Techniques, principles and practices.
Hands-on approach to Problem Solving, anticipating process breakdowns and proactively implementing appropriate corrective actions.
Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
Ability to focus on Product and Process validation, using PFMEA to identify robust Control Plans.
Possess good organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple priorities simultaneously.
Strives for continuous improvements, sets realistic stretch objectives and empowers the team to achieve.
This position will report to the Barcelona Quality Manager. The role objective of the Quality and Improvement Engineer is to manage all Quality product and process issues, identifying root cause, taking corrective action, and implementing control plans. This role will be a key member of the Quality Team and will work closely with the Product Group lead, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineer, Supplier Quality Team, and Customer.
