WE ARE LOOKING FOR A PhD graduate specialized in socio-ecological modelling to join as a postdoctoral research position on the competitive research project WILDASF-VAX: "Transference of ASF oral vaccination in wild boar to mitigate the introduction in free-countries: Final testing phase and field acceptability" (project CPP2023-010878), funded by MCIU/AEI /10.13039/501100011033/ FEDER, EU.

JOB PROFILE Key responsibilities: Collect, systematize and manage geo-spatial databases through GIS, and develop platforms for visualizing thematic maps.
Develop integrated socio-ecological models, including ecological connectivity analysis and habitat suitability assessments.
Analyze wildlife movement ecology data.
Develop decision support systems based on multi-criteria analysis.
Provide support to other technical and scientific tasks related to the project.
Collaborate in the writing of scientific articles and technical reports.
Required qualifications: PhD degree in the fields of biology, environmental science or other life sciences, or environmental, forest, or agronomic engineering.
Specific training and expert level knowledge of GIS technologies (ArcGIS, QGIS, R Studio), with the ability to use and interpret spatial data, perform analyses, and create cartographic products.
Demonstrable experience in programming languages (Python, R) and automation of cartographic tasks, statistical analysis, data visualization, and modelling.
Languages: Proficiency in English (Proficiency title or equivalent).
Person with strong teamwork skills, highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
Must be adaptable to multitasking and capable of working autonomously and proactively.
Valuable qualifications: Experience in projects on landscape ecology, biodiversity management, and human-wildlife interactions between wildlife and humans.
Experience in habitat suitability modelling.
Experience in designing decision support systems.
Experience in using telemetry and GPS tracking data to analyse wildlife movement patterns.
Languages: knowledge of Spanish and Catalan.
