The ideal candidate will have a strong background in packaging procurement, specifically in bottles and rigid packaging, with a proven ability to manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and optimize costs. As a Packaging Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of packaging materials critical to our manufacturing processes.Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for packaging materials, focusing on bottles and rigid packaging.- Identify and qualify suppliers capable of meeting quality, cost, and delivery requirements.- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality control, and logistics to ensure packaging requirements are met.- Manage supplier relationships and conduct regular performance reviews to drive continuous improvement.- Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for innovation and cost optimization.- Analyze spend data and develop reports to track savings and performance metrics.- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all sourcing activities.- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels of packaging materials.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.- 3+ years of experience in packaging procurement, preferably within the chemical industry.- Strong understanding of packaging materials, particularly bottles and rigid packaging.- Proven track record of managing a significant spend volume (e.G., $40M+ annually).- Demonstrated experience in supplier identification, selection, and negotiation.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using tools such as Excel or procurement software.- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and sustainability considerations related to packaging materials is a plus.- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.#J-18808-Ljbffr
